The C-96 model
is a cyclic oxygen closed circuit rebreather in which the breathing mix
(oxygen) moves through a one-way loop and is scrubbed to remove the CO2 from the
exhaled gas.
The total absence of sensors or
servomechanisms assures simplicity of operation.
The C-96 was originally designed for the military
for shallow water, long duration, clandestine operations and constructed
from highly sophisticated materials. Even though the units are
available on the market certain restrictions apply to their acquisition
and training. |
